Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 11, 2022 Journalists Share Posted August 11, 2022 What Belmont Newmarket Day 2022 Where Belmont Park Racecourse – Saintly Entrance, Burswood WA 6100 When Saturday, August 13, 2022 First Race 11:44am AWST Visit Ladbrokes Belmont plays host to nine metropolitan races on Saturday, headlined by the Listed Belmont Newmarket over 1200m. HorseBetting’s WA racing analyst presents his best bets for the program, including a tip in the feature. The track is rated a Heavy 9, the rail is out 3m for the entire course, and racing is scheduled to get underway at 11:44am AWST. Belmont Newmarket Best Bet – Great Again Great Again is getting on a bit, but his run in similar company on July 27 in the Listed H G Bolton Stakes at this track and distance was good enough to warrant tipping him at the each-way odds. The 10-year-old gelding has chopped and changed between Western Australia and Victoria his whole career, but while he has been in the west, he’s had 11 starts at this track for eight wins and two runner-up performances. The only time he missed the money at this track was last start when coming back from 1400m to 1200m. The son of Viscount meets the race favourite Resortman 2.5kg better at the weights, and barrier nine gives him plenty of fresh air and galloping room, which we think he needs. Joseph Azzopardi can get the old-timer home. Belmont Newmarket Race 8 – #3 Great Again (9) 10yo Gelding | T: Jayden Lyall | J: Joseph Azzopardi (56kg) $19 with Palmerbet Best Bet at Belmont – Revitup Three-year-old filly Revitup hasn’t done much wrong in her career to date, winning five of her eight races and running second on three other occasions. Trained by Dion Luciani, the daughter of Demerit has only been beaten by top horses, including Man Crush, Rumour Says and the very talented Aztec Ruler. Apprentice jockey Holly Watson knows her very well, having ridden her four times for two wins, so she will be trying to make it three from five on Saturday from barrier seven. Watson will send this filly forward, control the race and skip clear off the bend. While this is her first time seeing a heavy track, she’s unbeaten on soft going, with her most recent victory coming on a Soft 7, so the heavy shouldn’t be a concern. She should win again. Best Bet Race 2 – #1 Revitup (7) 3yo Filly | T: Dion Luciani | J: Holly Watson (a2)(60.5kg) $2.60 with Bet365 Next Best at Belmont – Flower In The Wind Four-year-old mare Flower In The Wind should be able to bounce back after going down as an even-money favourite last start at this track and distance. The mare by Sebring finished second in Listed company on July 16 behind Black Fantasy in the Belmont Classic (2200m) and then struggled to make ground from the back in her next start on July 30 over 2100m. Trained by Neville Parnham, Flower In The Wind now finds herself in a pretty weak One Metro Win Handicap, and although the Heavy 9 surface is a concern after she failed last time in it, this will be a lot easier. Steven Parnham can be a bit closer from barrier six and have his mount within striking distance in the straight. Next Best Race 4 – #4 Flower In The Wind (6) 4yo Gelding | T: Neville Parnham | J: Steven Parnham (58.5kg) $4.20 with Neds Best Value at Belmont – Don’t Fuss In the third race of the afternoon, Daniel & Ben Pearce saddle up nine-year-old gelding Don’t Fuss in a 1000m dash. The son of Scandal Keeper had some really good form last spring, finishing behind Elite Street, Triple Missile and Wilchino in good races, so if he can bring that form to the races on Saturday, he will be thereabouts. From barrier eight, Lucy Warwick can give him a dig out of the barriers and have him in the first half of the field, giving him every chance of being in the finish. He is ready to fire now fourth-up. Best Value Race 3 – #5 Don’t Fuss (8) 9yo Gelding | T: Daniel & Ben Pearce | J: Lucy Warwick (57.5kg) $17 with Unibet Belmont Newmarket Day quaddie tips for Belmont Belmont quadrella selections Saturday, August 13, 2022 2-5-6 1-2-5-6 1-3-5-10 3-6-9 Investment: $144 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
