Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 13, 2022 Journalists Posted August 13, 2022 Last year's Breeders' Cup hero Yibir (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) will not travel Stateside for his next start, after meeting with a setback, Godolphin announced via Twitter. The Charlie Appleby trainee ran out a half-length winner of the GI Breeders' Cup Turf in November and narrowly reported home second in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan in March. Returned to the country of his birth, he filled that position again in the G2 Jockey Club S. at Newmarket at the end of April and was third in the GI Man o' War S. back in New York on May 14. His latest effort was a 2 1/4-length win in the G2 Princess Of Wales's S. at Newmarket on July 7, and he had been pointing to the GI Sword Dancer S. at Saratoga on Aug. 27. “Unfortunately, Yibir has met with a slight setback and will no longer be heading to the US for his next intended start,” Godolphin tweeted on Saturday morning.
