Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 16, 2022 Journalists Share Posted August 16, 2022 Victoria has its first Million Dollar Chase semi-finalists – Plaintiff (pictured) and Kelsey Bale. Both progressed to the next qualifying round – remaining in the ultimate chase for a mouth-watering $1,000,000 first prize – after finishing first and third respectively in an MDC regional final (457m) at Temora on Tuesday afternoon. Trained by Jason Thompson, Plaintiff ($2.40F) obtained the ‘verdict’ with an impressive 25.80sec display. Kelsey Bale ($7.00), prepared by Daniel Gibbons was 3.75L from her compatriot. Amazingly, six Victorians contested the $7000 to-the-winner event – also including Jepara (4th) – Angela Langton; Mepunga Mustang (6th) and Do It (8th) – both Jeff Britton; and Equalizer (7th) – Jason Thompson. A model of consistency, Plaintiff (Jul ’20 Zambora Brockie x Appointed) played ‘prosecutor’ in claiming his 11th win (with five seconds) from 21 starts, including six of his past 10. And he knows how to win a ‘case’, having got the decision in the G3 GRV Vic Bred Maiden on Australian Cup night. He finished fourth in the G1 Maturity Classic and second in the G3 Launching Pad – on both occasions to ‘wonder woman’ Wow She’s Fast – and was fourth in the G3 Warragul St Leger and second in the Pink Diamond Rookie Short Course. Plaintiff and Kelsey Bale will continue their ‘chase’ for a million-dollar dream at Wentworth Park on September 16. Pawnote: Since its inception in 2018, no Victorian sprinter has won the Million Dollar Chase. Plaintiff has stated his case for the @tabcomau #MillionDollarChase, taking out the @Temoragreys Regional Final in style in 25.80, with Impress Bromell & Kelsey Bale joining him for the Semis on September 16!
