JACK CHRISTOPHER (c, 3, Munnings–Rushin No Blushin, by Half Ours), last seen finishing third at 7-10 in the GI TVG Haskell Invitational S. at Monmouth July 23, shortened up for Saturday's GI H. Allen Jerkens S. and returned to winning ways to remain perfect around one turn. The 'TDN Rising Star' was pounded down to 1-2 odds, and was content to track Conagher (Jimmy Creed) from second through an opening quarter of :22.18. He sidled up to the outside of that foe past a :44.53 half, leveled off with his big blaze pointed for home and kept finding from that point on to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths over Gunite (Gun Runner). Runninsonofagun (Gun Runner) gave his sire the 2-3 finish. Jack Christopher, previously a winner of the GI Champagne S., GII Pat Day Mile and GI Woody Stephens S. after a debut romp on this card last year, stopped the clock in 1:21.15.
