'TDN Rising Star' MALATHAAT (f, 4, Curlin–Dreaming of Julia, by A.P. Indy) had settled for second to re-opposing Clairiere (Curlin) in both the June 11 GI Ogden Phipps S. and GII Shuvee S. July 24, but she got rolling in the Saratoga stretch Saturday to blow past the talented tandem of Search Results (Flatter) and Letruska (Super Saver) and post a half-length victory over the former in 1:48.30. Clairiere, the 8-5 favorite, lagged far back early and could only manage fifth while clearly not herself.
