Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 31, 2022 Journalists Share Posted August 31, 2022 Deep Impact’s Group 1-winning son Satono Aladdin has made an impressive impact with his first Southern Hemisphere representatives and he again received further positive feedback during Rich Hill Stud’s weekend stallion parade. Sunday’s event was well-attended and a number of onlookers were viewing Satono Aladdin for the first time due to COVID-19 and overseas quarantine protocols making him unavailable to the general public for the past two seasons. “We were very pleased with the turn out for the parade and the stallions attracted a great deal of interest,” Rich Hill’s John Thompson said. Satono Aladdin’s first crop includes the unbeaten Australian trio of Grand Impact, Japanese Emperor and Koshu while he has also sired three New Zealand winners and black-type performer Sacred Satono. Rich Hill’s roster also features proven stallions Shocking, Proisir and Vadamos and, as usual, they had an abundance of admirers in attendance. They are proving popular with Australasian breeders, having kicked off the new season in tremendous fashion. Shocking’s G1 Toorak Handicap-winning son I’m Thunderstruck resumed last Saturday with a bold second in the G1 Memsie Stakes. Just moments after parading on Sunday, Proisir sired the impressive debut winner Pier at Matamata and trainer Darryn Weatherley has spring stakes targets for the three-year-old. Vadamos’ brilliant Group-winning daughter La Crique looks to be in for a great season after impressing with a stylish trial win at Taupo last week and will resume in the upcoming G1 Tarzino Stakes ahead of an Australian campaign. Ace High again impressed onlookers with his imposing physical presence with owners, breeders and trainers looking forward to his two-year-olds making their race debuts this season. The dual Group 1-winning son of High Chaparral has progeny in an array of Australasia’s leading stables with excellent feedback on his progeny.
