What Hawkesbury Races

When Thursday, September 8, 2022
First Race 12:55pm AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

Hawkesbury will play host to a competitive eight-race program on Thursday, and HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst has found you a couple of best bets and a quaddie for the meeting. The track is rated a Heavy 8, and the rail is out 2m form the 1100m to the 450m and then true for the remainder of the course. Racing is scheduled to start at 12:55pm AEST with the running of a Maiden Handicap over the 1300m.

Best Bet at Hawkesbury – Sir Crackle

Bjorn Baker and Dylan Gibbons combine with Sir Crackle in the fourth event of the afternoon, and it looks like the perfect race for this four-year-old to win his maiden. The son of Choisir has had five starts for two minor placings, including a third to Stakes winner Flying Crazy and a narrow first-up defeat last start at Gosford over 1000m when trying to lead all of the way. Drawn wide in barrier nine, the gun apprentice is likely to want to lead again, so we are hoping that race experience will see him jump cleanly and cross without doing too much work. His trials leading up to his first-up run were terrific, and he resumed well enough for us to want to be with him again.

Best Bet

Race 4 – Silk #3 Sir Crackle (9)

4yo Gelding | T: Bjorn Baker | J: Dylan Gibbons (a1.5)(59kg)

$3.80 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Hawkesbury – Jukebox Flyer

Jukebox Flyer has had three starts in three states, but she now lines up on her home track for the first time. After winning nicely on debut at Newcastle, trainer Claire Lever took her to Caulfield, where she ran a game second, before having no luck when getting too far back last start at Eagle Farm to run four lengths behind Flaming Conquest, who has since won again. The three-year-old by Jukebox can use the inside alley to be closer to the speed on Thursday, which should see her go close to returning to the winner’s circle. This is very winnable for this smart three-year-old filly.

Next Best

Race 8 – Silk #8 Jukebox Flyer (1)

3yo Filly | T: Claire Lever | J: Alysha Collett (56kg)

$3.50 with Neds

Next Best Again at Hawkesbury – Artie’s Aura

Artie’s Aura comes off a third-placing at Rosehill Gardens last start behind Riduna when beating home Hope In Your Heart and Frumos. That form looks good enough for a Provincial Class 1 Handicap, so we are happy to be with the Edward O’Rourke-trained mare. The five-year-old by Artie Schiller won on debut at Dubbo back in February, and while her three runs after that were nothing flash, she showed a much improved performance last time out in the city. Reece Jones rode her at Rosehill last time and sticks with her, so with even luck from barrier five she should prove hard to beat.

Next Best Again

Race 3 – Silk #4 Artie’s Aura (5)

5yo Mare | T: Edward O’Rourke | J: Reece Jones (57.5kg)

$2.60 with Palmerbet
