Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 6, 2022 Journalists Share Posted September 6, 2022 What Eagle Farm Races Where Eagle Farm Racecourse – 230 Lancaster Rd, Ascot QLD 4007 When Wednesday, September 7, 2022 First Race 12:33pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Brisbane racing HQ plays host to eight midweek races this Wednesday, with the first at Eagle Farm scheduled to jump at 12:33pm AEST. HorseBetting’s Queensland racing analyst provides you with his best bets and quaddie selections for the metropolitan program, with his top pick coming up in the final race of the day. The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail will be out 10.5m for the entire course. Best Bet at Eagle Farm – Zuma California Cameron Richardson and Jasmine Cornish combine in the last race of the afternoon with consistent galloper Zuma California. The four-year-old gelding has only had nine career starts, winning two of those and placing a further three times, including a runner-up effort behind Group 2 winner Prince Of Boom in the $500,000 QTIS 3YO Jewel on the Gold Coast earlier in the year. The son of Statue Of Liberty has had two runs back this time in, finishing third and fourth respectively in Saturday metropolitan races. With the rail out 10.5m on Wednesday, we expect on-pace horses to be advantaged, and that is exactly where Jasmine Cornish will have him from the inside alley. With 57.5kg on his back after Cornish’s claim, Zuma California should be very hard to beat in this Benchmark 65 Handicap over 1200m. Best Bet Race 8 – #3 Zuma California (1) 4yo Gelding | T: Cameron Richardson | J: Jasmine Cornish (a3)(60.5kg) $2.80 with Bet365 Next Best at Eagle Farm – Derani Maryann Brosnan’s galloper Derani simply deserves a win. The four-year-old has placed in his past four starts, and in his most recent at the Gold Coast he was a deadset certainty beaten. The gelded son of Sebring gets back to 1800m after running so well at this track and distance two starts ago behind Deficit, and with the booking of Robbie Fradd, he should be might hard to beat. Although drawing out wide in barrier 11, Derani has shown speed in starts prior, so we are hoping that Fradd uses that long run into the first turn to try and find a forward position, rather than snagging back to near last and then riding for luck. He’s the best horse in this race, and if ridden accordingly, he should be winning. Next Best Race 4 – #1 Derani (11) 4yo Gelding | T: Maryann Brosnan | J: Robbie Fradd (59kg) $3.80 with Neds Best Value at Eagle Farm – Confessed There is a couple of handy gallopers in this field, but Kris Lees looks to have once again placed this mare extremely well. Confessed, a five-year-old by Press Statement, was a good winner at this track and distance in March, coming from near last to win by two-tenths of a length. While she did have a couple of starts in Queensland leading up to that win, they were on a Soft 5 and the Sunshine Coast Polytrack, so she jumped out of the ground on a Good 4 at Eagle Farm. In two runs this preparation, Confessed has been racing on wet tracks at the Sydney midweek metropolitan meetings, but she put in a much improved fourth on a Soft 5 last start behind Devil’s Throat over 1250m. Now up to Queensland, third-up and on a Good 4 over 1400m, she can be going very close to winning. Best Value Race 2 – #7 Confessed (8) 5yo Mare | T: Kris Lees | J: Michael Cahill (57kg) $5.50 with Palmerbet Wednesday quaddie tips for Eagle Farm Eagle Farm quadrella selections Wednesday, September 7, 2022 1-4-6 1-2-3-7-8-9-11 10-12 3-6-9 Investment: $126 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
