Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 8, 2022 Journalists Share Posted September 8, 2022 What Morphettville Parks Races Where Morphettville Racecourse – 79 Morphett Rd, Morphettville SA 5043 When Saturday, September 10, 2022 First Race 12:12pm ACST Visit Ladbrokes The Parks track at Morphettville is the destination for metropolitan racing in South Australia on Saturday afternoon with a competitive nine-race card scheduled. With the rail out 6m, it may pay to be close to the speed throughout, but with each meeting that goes past, the theory of needing to be on speed on the Parks track becomes more of a myth. Racing is set to get underway at 12:12pm ACST on a track rated a Soft 5. Best Bet at Morphettville: Anphina Andrew Bobbin sends his three-year-old filly Anphina to Morphettville where she looks well placed to break her maiden at start five. She brings exemplary form lines into a race like this having been beaten by Quang Tri by two-lengths in the Listed Taj Rossi Final on July 2 and two starts prior split the impressive duo of Brosnan and Lethal Thoughts also at Flemington. Having had a quick little 10-week spell, the three-year-old Rebel Dane filly should be raring to go and from barrier four, Todd Pannell should be able to stalk the speed throughout. Merchant Boss is set to make this a genuinely run 1400m event and armed with a decent enough turn of foot, Anphina should ultimately prove too good for this lot. Best Bet Race 1 – #2 Anphina (4) 3yo Filly | T: Andrew Bobbin | J: Todd Pannell (58kg) $2.20 with Unibet Next Best at Morphettville: Super Sharp We will be looking to bookend the program as the Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas-trained Super Sharp returns from a five-month spell. The three-year-old gelding broke his maiden at Gawler before heading to the paddock in a victory that had a touch of arrogance about it. Despite the half-length winning margin, he did it under a hold and ultimately never looked like getting beaten. The stable clearly has a high opinion of this bloke sending him straight to metropolitan class for his first-up run. With the expected race leader drawn directly underneath him, look for Jason Holder to follow that runner wherever he goes and lob Super Sharp just off its heels. This son of More Than Ready clearly has the most upside in a race like this and at a nice price with some online betting sites, Super Sharp looks one of the better bets on the card. Next Best Race 9 – #11 Super Sharp (4) 3yo Gelding | T: Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas | J: Jason Holder (57kg) $6.50 with Neds Best Value at Morphettville: Equichunk Having won five of his last six starts last campaign in weaker company, we are hoping the Jordan Frew-trained Equichunk can pick up a win in city grade. The seven-year-old gelding has a racing pattern which is hard to knock as he jumps cleanly from the barrier and can either lead a field up or take a sit of the pace. With the booking of 3kg claiming apprentice Margaret Collett, we expect the plan to be hold the rail, kick off the bend and have this run at a rapid pace throughout. With 56.5kg on his back following the claim, we are happy to take the $19 price on offer with online bookmakers about Equichunk. Best Value Race 2 – #4 Equichunk (6) 7yo Gelding | T: Jordan Frew | J: Margaret Collett (a3) (59.5kg) $19 with Palmerbet Saturday quaddie tips for Morphettville Morphettville quadrella selections Saturday, September 10, 2022 1-2-4-7 1-4-5-9 1-2-7-8 10-11 Investment: $128 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
