She’s LicketySplit has been far too good for her rivals in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes at Flemington, with Typhoon Titmus and Tajneed filling the placings, but never really threatening the Andrew Forsman-trained winner.

This year’s edition of the Edward Manifold was an on-pace dominated affair, with the three of the first four out coming from the first four in running throughout the 1600m event.

Celestial Spirit was a sole-leader who ran at an even pace, with Do It La and Tajneed sitting just off the leader with the eventual winner a couple of lengths of the those two, before coming off their back around the home turn and going straight past all three of them to win.

“Yeah absolutely, just nothing went right for her at Caulfield the other day but she bounced through it really well and probably gave us the confidence to come her today.” Andrew Forsman answered when asked if he was happy to see his filly get a better run today.

“Yeah we hope so, it’s always been the plan when we came over and job done today and we’ll see how she comes through it.” Forsman went on to confirm that the Thousand Guineas will be She’s LicketySplit’s next run, if all goes well in the coming days.

“She’s a Group 2 winner in Australi now which is great.”

Damian Lane picks up yet another win in the Edward Manifold Stakes, where he has won two of the last three editions of the race.

It seems he has a keen eye for some of these New Zealand raiders coming across the ditch for a raid on the Spring Carnival in Melbourne.

“All of the above, the blinkers really helped her travel a bit better, helped her corner a bit better and ultimately she was able to perform better.” Damian Lane replied when asked whether the 1600m, addition of blinkers and a better track were a positive today for She’s LicketySplit.

“You sort of thought that we had a little bit to find on Boogie Dancer. So hopefully we’ve found a little more now and we get a good track on the day and it evens the playing field.”

She’s LicketySplit is now the equal favourite with Boogie Dancer in the Thousand Guineas markets at $5 with most online bookmakers.
