Fasig-Tipton-Winner-Logo.jpgBLAZING SEVENS (c, 2, Good Magic–Trophy Girl, by Warrior's Reward) became the first Grade I winner for his freshman sire (by Curlin) with an 8-1 upset in the GI Champagne S. at Belmont, a Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” event. A dominant debut winner at Saratoga July 24, the $225,000 FTSAUG buy checked in third in the slop in Saratoga's GI Hopeful S. Sept. 5. Blazing Sevens caboosed the field early as Andiamo A Firenze (Speightstown) clocked a first half-mile in :47.09. Taking closer order on the backstretch, the chestnut swung out four wide in the lane and closed resolutely to win by 2 1/2 lengths over Verifying (Justify). Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-1.
