Goulburn Racecourse plays host to the feature race meeting in NSW on Tuesday with an eight-race card starting from 1:15pm AEDT. Currently we sit on a Soft 7 track, but with some drying days in store over the long weekend we believe it’ll be firming into the Soft 6 range come race day. The rail sits out 7m the entire circuit, so we expect it’ll be no disadvantage to be on speed and looking to make way throughout the card.

Best Bet at Goulburn – Condrieu

This lightly raced five-year-old by Sebring comes here after a very impressive debut maiden start at Newcastle on September 16. She was very impressive that day and hit the line very strong once getting clear at the 200m marker. Her first start was over the 1400m, and stepping up to the mile here second-up looks a great setup for this mare to produce her best. We think the John O’Shea stable has found a much easier task for her here, and provided she can stalk the leaders from gate one, Condrieu should be peeling out late under Keagan Latham and be too strong for her rivals at a very nice price with online bookmakers.

Best Bet

Race 5 – Silk #1 Condrieu (1)

5yo Mare | T: John O’Shea | J: Keagan Latham (59kg)

$3.30 with Neds

Next Best at Gouburn – Jamesonheart

Jamesonheart, a gelding by Deep Field, looks ready to go first-up for the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace stable. He comes here after three strong barrier trials and, on natural progression from last preparation, can be competitive in this grade. He won first-up in his first career start at Scone on March 29 before disappointing on an absolute bottomless track at Kembla Grange second-up; ignore that run and rate his ability on his initial start. We expect Louise Day to be very positive from a wide gate and look to dictate terms from the front or look for the one-by-one in running. This guy looks progressive and we trust the stable here.

Next Best

Race 7 – Silk #2 Jamesonheart (11)

4yo Gelding | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Louise Day (59kg)

$7 with Palmerbet

Best Value at Goulburn – Saveadateforme

We combine again with our best-bet partnership of Keagan Latham for the John O’Shea yard with this three-year-old by Savabeel. Saveadateforme comes here for his first career start and looks ready to tackle the 1400m after two very strong barrier trials. In particular, his last trial at Hawkesbury caught our eye on September 15, going hard held to the line to score with some ease. There’s some intent to be here first-up, and we don’t think the wide gate will be an issue later in the day. Look for Latham to go back in the run and be swooping home late. The track should be deteriorating on the inside, so out wide should be the best going by the time we get to the last.

Best Value

Race 8 – Silk #9 Saveadateforme (16)

3yo Colt | T: John O’Shea | J: Keagan Latham (56.5kg)

$9 with Ladbrokes
