Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 15, 2022 Journalists Posted October 15, 2022 SKIMS (GB) (f, 3, Frankel {GB}–Royal Decree, by Street Cry {Ire}) became her sensational sire's newest graded winner with a victory in the GII Sands Point S. at the Belmont at the Big A meet Saturday. Away well from her rail draw, the 9-2 shot raced between horses in fourth, hot on the heels of the leaders through a :25.44 opening quarter. Moving up into third through a :50.91 half, the homebred charged past the leader as three quarters went in 1:14.72. Entering the lane with a head of steam, she rolled home, holding off a late-running Vergara (Noble Mission {GB}) by a length. Third in both the GII Appalachian S. and GII Wonder Again S. earlier this year, Skims was off the board in the GIII Lake Goerge S. July 22 and the Riskaverse Aug. 25, both at Saratoga. She entered this off a close second to Vergara in the Dueling Ground Oaks at Kentucky Downs Sept. 5. Lifetime Record: 9-3-1-2. O/B-Andrew Rosen (GB); T-Shug McGaughey.
