Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 18, 2022 Journalists Share Posted October 18, 2022 What Warwick Farm Races Where Warwick Farm Racecourse – Governor Macquarie Dr, Warwick Farm NSW 2170 When Wednesday, October 19, 2022 First Race 1:25pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes Warwick Farm is the place to be for this Wednesday’s NSW Metropolitan meeting with an eight-race card scheduled. We currently sit on a Soft 6 track, and with some showers predicted on race-day we should stick somewhere in the soft range when racing gets under way. The rail is out 5m from the 1000m marker to winning post, and 3m for the remainder. Let’s see if we can find some winners on what looks a tricky meeting. Best Bet at Warwick Farm: King Frankel Our best of the day comes in race two and looks to take a mammoth of beating come Wednesday afternoon. King Frankel comes to this 2140m contest third-up in his preparation after being imported from Europe, and this looks to be where he can snag his second win in just his third Australian start for the Mark Newnham yard. This Frankel gelding comes back in class, but goes up in trip after running a solid third behind Navajo Peak over 2000m at Randwick on October 8. This is a much easier task and he can look to dictate terms in this small field. Look for Tyler Schiller to push towards the front from the soft barrier and give his rivals something to chase. He simply looks too good and a cracking bet at that. Best Bet Race 2 – #2 King Frankel (2) 5yo Gelding | T: Mark Newnham | J: Tyler Schiller (a1.5) (60.5kg) $1.70 with Neds Next Best at Warwick Farm: Cool Kaap Cool Kaap looks to be a very progressive three-year-old for the Chris Waller team and we’re keen to be on his side for the next best bet in race three. This colt by American Pharoah looks to get his second career win for the camp after winning up north in Queensland on June 29 in soft fashion. He was then put away for a short spell of just 98 days and headed to a very heavy deck at Canterbury first-up. He was enormous that day beaten just 0.4 lengths by a very fit Cinderella Days. Cool Kaap was hitting the line very strongly suggesting to us the step up in trip to 1400m and a more suitable surface can play in our favour against the market elect Saturn Star. Hugh Bowman gets the nod here and will look to stalk what looks a solid tempo on paper, and when asked Cool Kaap should produce a good enough turn of foot to salute. Next Best Race 3 – #4 Cool Kaap (1) 3yo Colt | T: Chris Waller | J: Hugh Bowman (58.5kg) $3.80 with Bet365 Next Best Again at Warwick Farm: Vianello Vianello looks a very interesting runner come race six, and we’re happy to be with the mare in this sharp 1000m sprint. She’s first-up for team Godolphin and James Cummings after a long 349-day spell, but has had three very strong barrier trials indicating to us she’s ready to go in a field like this. At her best last preparation, she was competitive against the likes of Espiona in the Listed Desirable Stakes at Flemington last year, and if that form holds she can be more than competitive in a race like this. The 1000m may seem a bit short for her, but with the amount of speed in the race we can get a nice soft run in transit behind Espirito and Washington Towers. When the time comes Zac Lloyd can get off their backs and storm home to get Vianello’s rivals on the winning post. Next Best Again Race 6 – #7 Va Via (1) 4yo Mare | T: James Cummings | J: Zac Lloyd (a3) (59kg) $4.80 with Bet365 Best Value at Warwick Farm: Starman The penultimate race holds our best value runner in Starman. Chris Waller trains this gelding by Zoustar and comes here second-up after running well behind Fox Fighter at Rosehill on September 24. He looks to be a horse that will appreciate the step up in trip to 1200m and some sting out of the ground on the soft deck. The last time he saw similar conditions he demolished his rivals up at the Gold Coast in January. We expect if he can recapture that form he’s a great each-way price in a competitive BM78. Kerrin McEvoy team’s up with the Waller stable here late in the afternoon and from a mid-field position look for Starman to be flying down the outside of the track. Best Value Race 7 – #2 Starman (1) 4yo Gelding | T: Chris Waller | J: Kerrin McEvoy (60kg) $9 with Bet365 Wednesday quaddie tips for Warwick Farm Warwick Farm quadrella selections Wednesday, October 19, 2022 4-7-9 4-7 2-4-10 1-3-7-10-11 Investment: $90 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
