Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 26, 2022 Journalists Share Posted October 26, 2022 What Eagle Farm Races Where Eagle Farm Racecourse – 230 Lancaster Rd, Ascot QLD 4007 When Saturday, October 29, 2022 First Race 12:16pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Metropolitan racing is set for Eagle Farm on Saturday afternoon in Queensland, and with plenty of sunshine throughout the week we should be seeing a Good 4 track. The rail is out 8m for the entire circuit, so it should be fair game this weekend with plenty of feature races on the bill. The first of 10 races is scheduled for 12:16pm AEST. Best Bet: Otyrar Race four has our best of the day with the Chris Waller-trained Otyrar. This gelding by New Approach has been ultra-consistent this preparation since travelling up to Queensland, with six starts for three wins and three more minor placings. For the first time, Otyrar takes a significant step up in grade from BM78 company last start into BM90 here over the 2212m, and he looks to get some nice weight relief with just 53.5kg after lugging 58.5kg at this same track and trip on October 15. Samantha Collett rides after having one start on Otyrar for one victory, and she should get the run in behind the speed from barrier three as this horse looks to make it win number four this season. Best Bet Race 4 – #9 Otyrar (3) 5yo Gelding | T: Chris Waller | J: Samantha Collett (53.5kg) $3.20 with Bet365 Next Best: Bulloo Bulloo is first-up on Saturday afternoon for the Stuart Kendrick yard, and this looks a very nice setup for her. Last preparation, this mare by Written Tycoon wasn’t disgraced in very competitive company behind horses like Minsk Moment at Eagle Farm on April 30 and Ranch Hand at Eagle Farm on May 14. Those runs were over 1300m and 1400m, respectively, and Bulloo – in our opinion – should stick to the sprinting trips this preparation. Her first-up record reads strongly with three starts for two wins, and she has trialled well heading into this Class 3 contest, winning at the Sunshine Coast on October 18. Apprentice Jaden Lloyd gets us down to 56.5kg after his claim and should get every chance from a soft gate. They should box seat and then, when asked, get off the back of the leaders to score. Next Best Race 3 – #4 Bulloo (1) 4yo Mare | T: Stuart Kendrick | J: Jaden Lloyd (58kg) $4.60 with Palmerbet Best Value: Akihiro Akihiro is trained by Gary Portelli and presents great value this weekend in race five at Eagle farm. He is first-up here after a 140-day spell and looks over the odds here in No Metro Wins company at around $23 with the top online bookies. With just 54kg in what looks a moderate field, he gets into this race very well and should have some class on his opposition. While we concede Akihiro is not finding the heights of his early career, he trialled exceptionally well in Sydney at Warwick Farm on September 23 and October 7 and looks to be going well enough for us to have an each-way throw at the stumps. Teagan Harrison will get back on this gelding by Maurice, and with firmer ground a massive plus, expect them to storm down the outside of the track late and figure in the finish.
