Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 4, 2022 Journalists Posted November 4, 2022 MISCHIEF MAGIC (IRE) (c, 2, Exceed and Excel {Aus}–Veil of Silence {Ire}, by Elusive Quality) overcame 6-1 odds to kick off the Breeders' Cup action at Keeneland Friday with a late rallying score in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. Off slowest of all, the Godolphin homebred trailed the field early as Tyler's Tribe (Sharp Azteca) and Speed Boat Beach (Bayern) contested the pace through a :21.65 opening quarter. Asked to go approaching the bend, Mischief Magic closed the gap a bit, but found himself blocked behind horses as Dramatised (Ire) (Showcasing {GB}) shot to the lead exiting the bend. Fighting his way between rivals, he gained position as another rival backed out of it and shot through a hole late to get the win by a length in a new stakes record of 1:02.41. Dramatised held second. Tyler's Tribe was pulled up and eased past the wire. He bled in his try without Lasix. A three-time winner in England, Mischief Magic captured the G3 Sirenia S. Sept. 3 and was fourth last out in the G1 Middle Park S. Sept. 24. Lifetime Record: 6-4-0-1. O/B-Godolphin (Ire); T-Charlie Appleby.
