There are very few turf races at the top level that Aidan O'Brien has not won in America, with the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf having been one of them. However, the Irish trainer once again proved it was just a matter of time as Meditate (Ire) (f, 2, No Nay Never–Pembina {Ire}, by Dalakhani {Ire}) swept to a decisive victory Friday. Reserved off an upbeat tempo in the early going, the multiple group-winning filly closed with authority in the final sixteenth and drew clear to score by 2 1/2 lengths. Pleasant Passage (More Than Ready) was up for second, while Cairo Consort (Cairo Prince) rounded out the trifecta. Final time for the one-mile turf test was 1:35.38. The victory represented the 16th victory in a Breeders' Cup event for Coolmore partners. Lifetime Record: 7-5-2-0, $942,341. O-Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith & Westerberg. B-Lynch-Bages & Rhinstone Bloodstock. T-Aidan O'Brien.
