Sitting an off-the-pace trip, ELITE POWER (c, 4, Curlin–Broadway's Alibi, by Vindication) was seventh at first call as Super Ocho (Ire) (Dubai Sky) led Jackie's Warrior (Maclean's Music) through an opening quarter in :22.12. As the field began to group together at the top of the lane, Jackie's Warrior seemed to get first jump as C Z Rocket (City Zip) loomed up the rail. Elite Power angled outside of the leading pair to come widest of all, stuck a head in front with a sixteenth to run, and powered clear close to home for the clear win. C Z Rocket got past Jackie's Warrior for second in a final time of 1:09.11.
