First Race 6:15pm AEDT

Friday night racing returns to Moonee Valley this week with a competitive eight-race program. The track is currently rated as a Soft 5, but with some warm weather forecasted for Melbourne on Thursday and Friday, we should be on a Good track on raceday. The rail will be in the 7m position for the entire circuit, and racing kicks off at 6:15pm AEDT.

Best Bet: Dusse

We were with the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Dusse when she won first-up at Sale over 1000m in a Benchmark 64 on October 23. This three-year-old filly was very impressive in winning at her most recent start, where she sat on-pace and showed a really good turn of foot to run away from her rivals and win by one and a half lengths. This daughter of Rubick is starting to compile a very impressive career record, as she is yet to miss the placings at her first four runs, including two wins. Ethan Brown will stick with this talented galloper after riding her to victory last start, and if he gets any luck from barrier 10 when he tries to cross to the front of the field, there should be no reason to think this girl won’t be in this race for a long way.

Best Bet

Race 3 – Silk#8 Dusse (10)

3yo Filly | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Ethan Brown (57kg)

$2.30 with Bet365

Next Best Bet: Invincible Caviar

Our next best bet of the night will be the very well bred Invincible Caviar, who is coming off a very good win at Sale on October 5 over 1208m. This four-year-old mare from the Peter Moody stable has won two of her first three starts to begin her career, and considering her mother is the legend that is Black Caviar, she looks to have that winning mentality that her undefeated dam had throughout her entire career. This daughter of I Am Invincible looks to be the horse to beat in this Benchmark 64 Handicap with the aid of barrier two and Luke Nolen sticking. If she finds the one-one and travels around the bend, this girl should be recording the third win of her career.

Next Best

Race 8 – Silk#8 Invincible Caviar (2)

4yo Mare | T: Peter Moody | J: Luke Nolen (59.5kg)

$3.10 with Palmerbet

Best Value: Young Liam

In the 55 Second Challenge over 955m for the speedsters, we will be siding with the Michael & Luke Cerchi-trained Young Liam, who is dropping back in grade from a Benchmark 70 at the same track and trip on October 21. This six-year-old will look to cross the field from barrier nine and lead them up, which should be a favourable position over the 955m with the rail out in the 7m position. Jordan Childs is the only jockey that has ridden this gelding to victory throughout his career, so with him retaining the ride this Friday, it fills us with more confidence that this guy will have every chance to record his seventh win at start 29. The betting sites are giving us $81 odds, so why not have a go?

Best Value

Race 6 – Silk#1 Young Liam (9)

6yo Gelding | T: Michael & Luke Cerchi | J: Jordan Childs (62kg)

$81 with Betfair
