Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 14, 2022 Journalists Share Posted November 14, 2022 What Rosehill Races Where Rosehill Gardens Racecourse – James Ruse Dr, Rosehill NSW 2142 When Wednesday, November 16, 2022 First Race 2pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes Metropolitan racing heads to Rosehill Gardens on Wednesday afternoon for a quickfire seven-race program. We’re currently listed to be racing on a Heavy 8 track, and with some rain expected on raceday, we’re doing the form based on a Soft surface at best. The rail is out +7m from the 1500m to the winning post and +4m for the remainder of the track. Racing is scheduled to get underway from 2pm AEDT, so let’s try and find some winners on hump day. Best Bet at Rosehill: Green Shadows The first leg of the quaddie is where we find our best bet of the day with Green Shadows in race four. His return first-up was nothing short of sensational when going down by 2.2 lengths against eventual NJC Spring Stakes winner Robusto on November 1 at Randwick. He was wide without cover the entire trip but had the audacity to stick on gamely to the line and, in our opinion, would’ve won the race with any luck. He drops 2.5kg for that effort and meets race rival Deep Snow much better at the weights through the same form reference. The wide barrier is of no concern considering we’re likely to find a wet track on Wednesday, plus the booking of Tommy Berry shows the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou want to give this colt a confidence-building win before looking to bigger prospects into the autumn. The $5 on offer with online bookmakers makes this a keen best of the day. Best Bet Race 4 – #8 Green Shadows (10) 3yo Colt | T: Gerald Ryan & Alexiou Sterling | J: Tommy Berry (57kg) $5 with Bet365 Next Best at Rosehill: Newley Wed We’re looking to go back-to-back with Tommy Berry in the first two legs of the quaddie. Newley Wed comes into this 1500m contest second-up and looks to have returned in terrific order with an eye-catching performance first-up at Hawkesbury on October 25 when beaten by 0.5 lengths. She went back to the rear of the field before storming down the middle of the track to just miss out on career win number two. That was 1300m, so the step up to 1500m looks perfect for this four-year-old mare. Team Hawkes has booked Tommy Berry here, and the barrier isn’t a concern based on our girl’s racing pattern. At 55.5kg, she looks well placed to put in another peak performance. Next Best Race 5 – #7 Newley Wed (7) 4yo Mare | T: Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes | J: Tommy Berry (55.5kg) $4.20 with Ladbrokes Best Value at Rosehill: Great Barrier Reef Great Barrier Reef looks a great each-way bet in race two on the program. This colt by I Am Invincible clearly has the superior form references under the belt with two quality performances against the best three-year-olds in the nation. She was beaten only 3.5 lengths by Everest winner Giga Kick at Flemington on October 1, then only 2.4 lengths by Sejardan at Moonee Valley on October 22. Ignore the Coolmore Stud Stakes run on Derby Day at Flemington and his form reads outstandingly well heading back to BM68 grade. The only negative is he may be better on top of the ground, so the wet surface may not be ideal, but we’re getting almost a double-figure price to find out. Brenton Avdulla takes the reins for trainer Chris Waller, and this looks like an opportunity for Great Barrier Reef to get a win on the board before heading to the paddock. Best Value Race 2 – #5 Great Barrier Reef (12) 3yo Colt | T: Chris Waller | J: Brenton Avdulla (59kg) $9 with PlayUp Wednesday quaddie tips for Rosehill races Rosehill quadrella selections Wednesday, November 16, 2022 3-6-8 3-5-7 2-3-6-10 3-6-7-9-10 Investment: $180 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
