Brad Parnham judged his ride aboard Sniparoochy to perfection, showing great nous to stay clear of the fence and salute by a length in the Jungle Mist Classic at Ascot.

It meant the four-year-old is now two wins from two starts this preparation, after also winning the Byron Bay Premium Lager Handicap over 1000m at the same venue on October 29.

“I’m a bit sceptical about the fence. The cut of the grass just seems to be a bit shorter,” Parnham told Sky Racing.

“She’s come back in really good order and both wins have been very impressive.”

Winning trainer Stephen Miller said his mare is now living up to her “Ferrari” nickname.

“She’s been a gem all the way through,” he said.

“She went through hard times there and she’s come through it well.

“She’s a beautiful little filly.”

Miller now believes his talented sprinter is ready to step up and be competitive over 1400m.

“This was the race we set her for. I’d like to win a 1400 with her, but I’ll just leave it up to the owners with what we’re going to do,” he said.
