What Cranbourne Races
Where Cranbourne Turf Club – 50 Grant St, Cranbourne VIC 3977
When Friday, November 25, 2022
First Race 5:40pm AEDT

Visit Ladbrokes

The Cranbourne Turf Club is the destination on Friday as the night racing season in Victoria continues. Nine races are set down for decision on a track rated a Soft 6, and the rail is out 6m for the entire circuit. With clear skies forecast in the lead up to the meeting, we expect to be racing on the better side of a Soft 5, if not a Good 4 at some stage during the card. The action gets underway in Melbourne’s south-east at 5:40pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Cranbourne: Flying Temptress

The Clinton McDonald-trained Flying Temptress was the definition of a good thing beaten on debut at Moonee Valley and we expect she will make amends on Friday night at Cranbourne. The three-year-old filly was held up for a run until it was too late, but once clear she leapt out of the ground to be beaten by the barest of margins. This girl looks like she will appreciate stepping out to the 1300m, and with race experience on her side compared to some of her rivals, Flying Temptress can work through her gears in the home straight and prove too hard to hold out.

Best Bet

Race 2 – Silks#10 Flying Temptress (7)

3yo Filly | T: Clinton McDonald | J: Blaike McDougall (56kg)

$2.20 with Neds

Next Best at Cranbourne: I Am War

Trevor Andrews brings I Am War to the Cranbourne 1200m, a track and trip he was successful at four runs back on August 4. He has since gone on to win two subsequent events and was far from disgraced in the Apache Cat Classic at this track on November 12, while he is sure to appreciate the drop back in class. There is no doubt the four-year-old appreciates the sting out of the ground, but he is certainly not helpless on firmer going. From barrier seven, look for Jamie Mott to have him lobbed in the one-one throughout, and when asked for an effort, I Am War should be too strong late for his rivals.

Next Best

Race 5 – silks#2 I Am War (7)

4yo Gelding | T: Trevor Andrews | J: Jamie Mott (59.5kg)

$1.90 with Unibet

Best Value at Cranbourne: Entremet

Entremet is dropping back from Group 3 company, where she wasn’t disgraced, to a BM70 at Cranbourne. The three-year-old filly strung together consecutive victories to begin her campaign, and a repeat effort of either of those runs should be more than good enough in a field like this. From barrier 10, expect Patrick Moloney to be aggressive early on and have this daughter of Magnus settled outside the leader or, at worst, in the one-one. If afforded that luxury, expect Entremet to bring up a third win from four starts this time in.

Best Value

Race 7 – Silks#8 Entremet (10)

3yo Filly | T: Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock | J: Patrick Moloney (57kg)

$10 with Unibet
