Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 24, 2022 Journalists Share Posted November 24, 2022 By Joshua Smith, Harness News Desk Bob Butt enjoyed Group success with Gold Chain and he is now looking to replicate those results with her two-year-old son Gold Bullion at Addington Raceway on Friday. The Father Patrick gelding has tasted success in his two starts and will be out to extend that winning record in the Group 2 Lone Star Sires’ Stakes 2YO Championship Mobile Trot (1980m). “He has taken it all in his stride and he seems quite a nice horse,” Butt said. “He seems well, has been trotting well, and his work has been good. It is another step up again, so it will be interesting to see how he goes against them.” Earlier on the card, Butt will be represented by three runners in the Happy Birthday Cherie & Tamara Jackson Mobile Pace (1980m) – A Taste Of Honey, Manhattan, and Callie’s Delight. “A Taste Of Honey has taken a couple of runs to come back into it. She just needs to get a bit of fitness on her side as she is a big, burly mare. Hopefully she keeps on improving with each run,” Butt said. “Manhattan is going great. She hasn’t gone a bad race this time in. Hopefully she can go another good one on Friday. “Callie’s Delight needed the run badly first-up. If she can get a good trip she won’t be too far away. She is up to them on her day.” Butt is also looking forward to getting in the cart behind the Paul Nairn-trained Resolve and El Conqueror in the Group 2 Continental Event Hire Trotting Mares Handicap Trot (2600m) and Support NZ Horse Ambulance Trust ‘Sundon’ 3YO Mobile Trot (1980m) respectively. “In Resolve’s last couple of starts she hasn’t done things right but on her day she is good enough to be competitive with them,” Butt said. “El Conqueror went really good on Cup Day. He has got a good draw (2) on Friday and if he can get a nice run he might be a place chance.” View the full article
