Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 28, 2022 Journalists Share Posted November 28, 2022 What Geelong Races Where Geelong Racecourse – 99 Breakwater Rd, Breakwater VIC 3219 When Wednesday, November 30, 2022 First Race 1pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes This Wednesday afternoon we head to Geelong for a competitive eight-race country program. The track is currently rated a Good 4, and considering there is no rain on the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, we should be in the Good range come raceday. The rail will be in the true position for the entire circuit, and the first race will jump at 1pm AEDT. Best Bet: Highland Hill The opening Maiden Plate over 2400m looks to be a nice race for the Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock-trained Highland Hill, who will be looking to break his duck at his fourth career start. This son of Highland Reel has run in the placings at two of his three starts in his short career, with his best being his most recent start at Moe over 2050m. The winner of that race, Gottabesavvy, has since come out and run third in a $175,000 handicap at Cranbourne on November 12, while the second-placed runner won at Cranbourne on November 25. This guy was only 1.8 lengths off those two runners at Moe, and he beat the rest of the field comfortably. With even luck, this gelding should be able to break his maiden in a field that seems to lack quality. Best Bet Race 1 – #6 Highland Hill (5) 3yo Gelding | T: Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock | J: Blake Shinn (58kg) $2.50 with Neds Next Best Bet: Riverplate In the Class 1 Handicap over 1500m we will be siding with the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained Riverplate, who recorded an easy 3.75-length victory last start over 1400m at Sandown. This son of Flying Artie came over from New Zealand earlier this year with very good form, even though he was a maiden, as he had recorded four placings from eight starts. Last start, this guy was heavily backed first-up when returning from a five-month spell and he duly saluted by leading from the barriers to the winning post while being eased down in the final 50 metres. This gelding clearly has above-average ability, and now that he has broken his maiden, we expect him to only get better and grow in confidence. Next Best Bet Race 5 – #1 Riverplate (9) 4yo Gelding | T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young | J: Blake Shinn (60kg) $2.90 with Betfair Best Value Bet: Papillon Club In the Maiden Plate over 1200m for three-year-old fillies we will be siding with the Greg Eurell-trained Papillon Club, who was good on debut when running three lengths back in second behind a smart one, River Ribble, at Cranbourne over 1200m on July 7. Since her debut she has been given a five-month spell, returning with two very nice jumpouts at Cranbourne over 760m and 1000m, with her last over 1000m on November 14 being the better of the two. This daughter of Toronado will need a little bit of luck from barrier eight on Wednesday, but if Craig Williams can get this girl across the field and push forward to sit a couple of pairs back from the leaders, she will give us a good sight at $10 with online bookmakers. Best Value Race 3 – #9 Papillon Club (8) 3yo Filly | T: Greg Eurell | J: Craig Williams (57kg) $10 with Bet365 Wednesday quaddie picks for Geelong races Geelong quadrella selections Wednesday, November 30, 2022 1-7 2-3-6-7 2-6-9-12 2-3-9-13 Investment: $128 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
