GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts  Fellas, we’ve been able to soak up an outstanding Melbourne Cup night, and now we’re ready for eight terrific heats of the Group 1 Sportsbet Silver Chief at The Meadows.

Gerard  The first heat looks extremely competitive with Group 3 Great Chase finalists Mepunga Raider and Elite Alex up against Amron Dan and Die Hard.

Trent  How about the excitement surrounding the second heat? Rejuvenate – a winner of nine races from 11 starts – faces fellow Group 3 winner Deadly Class (won seven from 15).

Quilts  The third heat is fascinating as well, Trent. The Great Chase winner All Spritzed Up returns, but Electrified is a star from WA with 14 wins from 18 races including a Group 3 triumph.

Gerard  It is amazing to see the Group 1 Melbourne Cup champion Yachi Bale in the fourth heat. It won’t be easy from Box 7, and Shadow Riot (Box 1) and Dundee Smokey (Box 3) are promising.

Trent  Amron Boy almost chased down the champion Wow She’s Fast in last Saturday night’s scintillating Showdown. The Phoenix runner has the opportunity to shine in the fifth heat.

Quilts  The sixth heat has a couple of quality performers with Landyn Bale victorious in eight of his 16 races and one of Trent’s favourite, Salad Dodger, a three-time Group placegetter.

Gerard  The seventh heat is a cracker, Quilts. Scofflaw loves Box 1, Like An Arrow is a Group 3 runner-up, and then there is Zoha Bale; the last greyhound to beat Yachi Bale.

Quilts  Hot Scotch can use Box 1 to his advantage with his early speed in the eighth heat, but Triumph is a Group 1 finalist and Quinlan Bale is a dual Group placegetter.

Trent  Don’t forget about greyhounds the calibre of Kelsey Bale and Baby Jaycee appearing at Sandown Park this evening, plus Group 1 winners Moraine Suzie and Mepunga Ruby clashing at Geelong tomorrow night.
