Julia Shining (f, 2, Curlin–Dreaming of Julia, by A.P. Indy) overcame early trouble, an erratic rival in front of her, and a wide trip to win the GIII Demoiselle S. as the 1-2 favorite, the third consecutive victory for conditioner Todd Pletcher and only two years removed from her full-sister Malathaat's win in the race. The 'TDN Rising Star' never looked comfortable in the mud, but pulled out the victory in 1:53.05 and picked up ten points to the 2023 GI Kentucky Oaks. O-Stonestreet Stables LLC, B-Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC, T-Todd Pletcher.
