Tesio
Looking at the summer calendar (Dec, Jan, Feb) the Sth Island is clearly being cheated out of opportunities for 2yr old and 3yr old races Sth Island - 8 races for age group (2yr and 3yr olds) Nth Island - 73 races for age group (2yr and 3yr olds) Note 21 race meetings during this period in the Sth and 53 race meetings in the nth. Sth island has 28.4% of the race meetings during this period yet they only have 9.8% of the 2yr and 3yr old races. My understanding is the infamous CEO at CJC controls all things race programming down south, why would anyone race young horses down Sth with such a poor program. Anyone wanting to buy yearlings or breed horses, why would they race them down south? Where is the incentive from the CEO of CJC to get young horses into the South Island race system? 3

I don't think the CJC sees themselves as having any responsibility for SI racing. I think they feel they have made their contribution by hosting an AWT and the rest of the Island should be grateful to them.
