Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 13, 2022 Journalists Share Posted December 13, 2022 Peter Sadler is an ideas man. But his idea to apply for a slot in The Phoenix (525m) may be his best to date. Founder and owner of Peter Sadler Removals and Logistics, Sadler wanted an end-of-year Christmas celebration that would allow for a great party and a new way to give back to the ‘People of Peter Sadler’. Sadler believes that sometimes in business, people can be undervalued, and this was one thing he was determined not to happen within his business. “We reward our people for being loyal, and the concept of bringing everyone along for the journey in such a different way like The Phoenix is grouse.” “It’s very much a team environment. From the very beginning I set about making sure that I was the least important person in the business.” Sadler recognised that without the people, they wouldn’t have anything – much like the sport of greyhound racing. “We reward our people for being loyal, and the concept of bringing everyone along for the journey in such a different way like The Phoenix is grouse,” he said. I was like a kid learning how to spell.” WATCH: EL DORADO (B2) scorched the track at Sandown Park in the third heat of the Group 1 Sportsbet Melbourne Cup on November 19 in a time of 29.35 seconds. The ‘People of Peter Sadler’ landed on El Dorado and Daryl Holmes for their Phoenix contender. “El Dorado had run some impressive times at The Meadows, and I really liked the passion that Daryl spoke about for the sport,” said Sadler. “I also recognised really quickly that there were so many great people in the sport who had values that aligned with ours. “We love people. We are a people business and I have loved meeting and speaking to some of the better people I have ever spoken to. “We want to be associated with good people, the great fun of racing and enjoying a night out together.” Of the $1.65 million on offer in The Phoenix, Sadler will share funds across his team, owner and trainer of El Dorado and Victoria’s Greyhound Adoption Program. “When we win, I’m sure we will all share a nice glass of red wine with Daryl.” View the full article
