Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 13, 2022 Journalists Share Posted December 13, 2022 What Hawkesbury Races Where Hawkesbury Race Club – 1 Racecourse Rd, Clarendon NSW 2756 When Thursday, December 15, 2022 First Race 1:50pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes We head back to Hawkesbury Race Club on Thursday afternoon for a competitive seven-race program headlined by the $150,000 Summer Provincial Final over 1600m. The rail sits back in the true position for the entire circuit, and while the surface is listed as a Soft 5 at this stage, we’ll be expecting a track upgrade with perfect conditions heading into raceday. The first race is scheduled to get us underway at 1:50pm AEDT. Best Bet: Luna Rocks The second leg of the quaddie is over the 1000m at BM64 level and it’s where you’ll find our best bet of the afternoon with the Richard and Will Freedman-trained Luna Rocks. She’s first-up after a 215-day spell and looks to resume in fantastic order after an impressive two-year-old campaign. Her form last preparation reads outstandingly well — in particular, her final effort of the campaign, resulting in a 6.4-length loss to star filly In Secret. While the margin was significant, Luna Rocks was cast three wide for the trip and held on very gamely considering how things unfolded on May 15 at Scone, and with any luck she would have finished a lot closer. Her two trials suggest she’s more than ready to be competitive in this class, and she even trialled against race rival Oryx, who looks the only real danger in this field to us. If she can find his back throughout before making her run late with Dylan Gibbons taking the reins, she looks very hard to beat. Best Bet Race 5 – #2 Luna Rocks (5) 3yo Filly | T: Richard & Will Freedman | J: Dylan Gibbons (58kg) $3.30 with Palmerbet Next Best: Exsensible Exsensible doesn’t look too far away from breaking his maiden status, and this 1100m race looks like his best chance for the campaign. This son of Exceed And Excel has had three starts and all have had merit, including his first-up effort at this track and distance on November 3 behind Felix Majestic, who has since gone on to win in Saturday company. Since that run, Exsensible has finished second on two occasions against strong maiden company, including last week at Warwick Farm when beaten 1.9 lengths to Never Falls. He was forced to sit outside the leader there and kept on strongly again into the minor placings. On Thursday, however, we can see him getting his own way up on speed before kicking clear of his rivals, as opposed to his last couple of starts where he’s faded. Not to mention we get experienced hoop Kerrin McEvoy aboard, so hopefully he can rate Exsensible home to victory as he deserves to get his first career win. Next Best Race 1 – #2 Exsensible (4) 4yo Gelding | T: David Pfieffer | J: Kerrin McEvoy (59kg) $2.20 with Neds Best Value: Galaxy Belle We look to the feature race on the program at Hawkesbury to find our best value runner in the $150,000 Summer Provincial Final. Galaxy Belle comes here in impressive form and is looking for back-to-back wins for the Kris Lees stable after an eye-catching performance at Newcastle on December 3. She raced beautifully in behind the leaders before getting a gap late to blast through to put away her rivals by 1.8 lengths. Her two starts prior to that effort were total forgive runs, so it was nice to see her come out and get another win under her belt coming into what looks like her grand finale. Galaxy Belle looks perfectly set-up to do what she did at Newcastle, as this race has a stack of tempo with on-speed horses listed across the page. Provided jockey Aaron Bullock can keep her close enough in transit and find clear running late, we think she looks hard to beat. what’s more, we’re getting a cracking price with online bookmakers to find out. Best Value Race 6 – #5 Galaxy Belle (7) 5yo Mare | T: Kris Lees | J: Aaron Bullock (58.5kg) $7 with Bet365 Thursday quaddie tips for Hawkesbury races Hawkesbury quadrella selections Thursday, December 15, 2022 3-4-5-10 1-2 5-6-7-12-14 2-3-4 Investment: $120 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
