Visit Ladbrokes

The Sunshine Coast Turf Club will host another very competitive seven-race night meeting this Friday. The track is currently rated a Good 4 and with good weather on the forecast for Thursday and Friday, we should be in the Good range on race day. The rail will be in the True position for the entire circuit.

The first race will jump at 5:52pm AEST.

Best Bet at Sunshine Coast – Enterprise Bella

Our best bet at the Sunshine Coast will be the Beau Gorman-trained Enterprise Bella, who will be on the quick seven-day back-up, after having no luck for most of the home straight last time out at this track and trip on December 16. This five-year-old mare has raced at the Sunshine Coast at her last three starts, where she hasn’t finished outside of the top four, including a nice win two starts back. Last start this daughter of Rothesay was pushed back to second last on the rail as the field rounded the home bend and she never saw any clear air until the final 100m, where she made good ground to run fourth, beaten 1.6 lengths. Considering this mare likes to get back in her races and finish over the top of them late, drawing barrier 12 on Friday should suit her, as she will drop to the back of the field and sit on the outside, meaning she shouldn’t get held up and will get every chance to win again.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silks #9 Enterprise Bella (12)

5yo Mare | T: Beau Gorman | J: Mark Du Plessis (57.5kg)

$5.50 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Sunshine Coast – Tranquil Bay

In race five we will see the Robert Heathcote-trained Tranquil Bay return to the Sunshine Coast after running at Doomben last start and finishing sixth in a Benchmark 70 Handicap on November 5. After having 6 weeks between runs, this four-year-old mare will come to the races fresh, and she will drop in grade from the last start Benchmark 70 to a Benchmark 68 Handicap over 1200m on Friday. Before going to Doomben, this daughter of Cable Bay won her last two starts at the Sunshine Coast over 1200m, however, things didn’t go to plan when Heathcote and his team made the trip to Brisbane, running sixth by 3.7 lengths, albeit in a hot race. When first-up this girl has a decent record with 3 seconds and a third from four starts. From barrier four she should lob in the perfect position in the one-one or another pair back and when the leaders straighten, she will be peeling off their backs to stake her claim.

Race 5 – Silks #9 Tranquil Bay (4)

4yo Mare | T: Robert Heathcote | J: Ben Thompson (57.5kg)

Next Best Again at Sunshine Coast – Mission Of Love

Our best value bet of the night will come up in the 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate over 1200m, where the John Symons & Sheila Laxon-trained Mission Of Love will be looking to break her maiden at her third career start. At her first-up run this campaign, this daughter of The Mission was very strong at the end of the 1200m event at Doomben, running home from the back of the field to only go down by half-a-length on December 9. With a lot of speed expected in this race, it looks like it will suit a runner with a “get back and run on” racing pattern and that’s exactly what this girl has, as well as a blistering turn of foot. From barrier 18, Larry Cassidy will have to go back from the barrier and find the outside on the home turn, before unleashing that big finish that she possesses.

Next Best Again

Race 2 – Silks #8 Mission Of Love (18)

3yo Filly | T: John Symons & Sheila Laxon | J: Larry Cassidy (57kg)

$3.70 with Neds
