Visit Ladbrokes

The Tweed River Jockey Club will host a competitive seven-race program this Tuesday. The track is currently rated a Good 3, but with rain on the forecast for the preceding four days before Tuesday, we could be racing on a Soft track come race day. The rail will be in the True position for the entire circuit.

The first race will kick off at 2:05pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Murwillumbah: Lady Falvelon

Our best bet of the day will come up in race five, where the Matthew Dunn-trained Lady Falvelon will be looking for back-to-back wins as she returns to the Murwillumbah 1200m after her victory their last start on December 9. This daughter of Falvelon was very impressive last start, where she settled behind the leaders and peeled off their heels on the home bend to kick clear and record a two-length victory. This three-year-old filly beat two of her quite easily last start that she will meet again on Tuesday, however, the rest of this field met last start, where Divine Courage won by a length in slightly quicker time. With this girl carrying 57kg again and Matthew McGuren sticking with her, she looks very hard to beat.

Best Bet

Race 5 – Silk #5 Lady Falvelon (7)

3yo Filly | T: Matthew Dunn | J: Matthew McGuren (57kg)

$5.00 with Unibet

Next Best at Murwillumbah: I Am Voodoo

In the sixth race of the day over 1200m, the Toby & Trent Edmonds-trained I Am Voodoo will be looking to record his second win at his third career start after winning his last start at this track over 1100m on December 9. This son of Hellbent sat outside the leader and they set a hot speed, before pulling away from the rest of the field and winning by half-a-length on the line, with the winner and runner-up beating the rest of the field very easily. Now that he is third-up and has the confidence of his first win, we should see him improve even more as he rises to the 1200m on Tuesday. Andrew Mallyon hopping on board is a positive as the more experienced jockey will help him settle better if he doesn’t settle on speed from barrier nine. This guy looks to have good early speed and if he doesn’t get to the front, he should find the one-one and be very hard to beat once again.

Next Best

Race 6 – Silk #7 I Am Voodoo (9)

3yo Gelding | T: Toby & Trent Edmonds | J: Andrew Mallyon (56kg)

$6.50 with Neds

Best Value at Murwillumbah: Sagacious

Our value bet of the day will be in the second race over 1550m, where Sagacious from the Matthew Dunn yard will be looking for his first win this preparation after racing at Doomben his last two starts over 1350m. This son of Foxwedge will rise to a much more suitable distance of 1550m, where he has won three of his four starts at the trip. Matthew McGuren will jump back aboard this start for his third ride on this gelding, where he will be trying to record his second victory. As he drops back from metropolitan grade to country grade, he will have to carry 61kg, but considering he is the class runner in the field, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Best Value

Race 2 – Silk #2 Sagacious (5)

5yo Gelding | T: Matthew Dunn | J: Matthew McGuren (61kg)

$3.00 with Bet365
