Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 2, 2018 Journalists Share Posted September 2, 2018 Runner-up on debut over seven furlongs at Baden-Baden July 29, Stall Salzburg’s Quest the Moon (Ger) (Sea the Moon {Ger}) took a step forward on Sunday to provide his first-season sire with a first black-type success in the G3 Wackenhut Mercedes-Benz-Preis Zukunftsrennen at Baden-Baden. Kept apart from the remainder of the field early by Oisin Murphy, the 6-1 was settled on the shoulder of the leader I’ll Have Another (Ire) (Dragon Pulse {Ire}) and looked held as that rival began to assert approaching the final furlong. Sticking to his task as the 23-10 favourite Peace of Paris (Ger) (Helmet {Aus}) closed in on the British raider, Quest the Moon managed to upstage them both in the last 50 metres and beat the long-time leader by a neck, with the same margin back to Peace of Paris in third. QUEST THE MOON (GER), c, 2, Sea the Moon (Ger)–Questabella (Ger), by Rock of Gibraltar (Ire). Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, €33,200. (€32,000 RNA Ylg ’17 BBASEP; €6,000 Ylg ’17 BBAOCT). O-Stall Salzburg; B-Gestut Gorlsdorf (GER); T-Sarah Steinberg. View the full article
