Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 2, 2018 Journalists Share Posted September 2, 2018 GRACEFUL PRINCESS (f, 2, Tapit–Havre de Grace {HotY, Ch. Older Female & MGISW, $2,586,175}, by Saint Liam), a homebred daughter out of dual champion Havre de Grace, made all the pace and held on late to capture her career bow Sunday at Saratoga. Showing a sharp local worktab, capped by a five-furlong breeze in 1:00 2/5 (3/14) Aug. 27, the bay broke sharply as a 7-2 proposition and cleared through fractions of :22.94 and :45.91. Kicking away into the stretch, she got a bit leg-weary in the final sixteenth, but still had 1 3/4 lengths on Introspection (Overanalyze) when hitting the wire in 1:23.58 for seven furlong. Havre de Grace, who took the GI Woodward S. at this oval exactly seven years ago en route to Horse of the Year and Champion Older Female honors, sold for $10 million to Mandy Pope’s Whisper Hill Farm at Fasig-Tipton November the following fall. She has a yearling full-brother to the winner and produced her full-sister this term before returning to Tapit once more. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $51,000. O/B-Whisper Hill Farm LLC (KY); T-Ralph E. Nicks. View the full article
