An eight-race card is scheduled for the Stony Creek Racing Club on Tuesday afternoon and Horsebetting’s Victorian tipping expert presents his best bets, top odds and free quaddie picks. The track has come up a Good 4, with the rail in the true position, for the meeting getting underway at 1:30pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Stony Creek – Kimberley Pearl

Having returned in fine style when breaking her maiden at Wangaratta on December 10, the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Kimberley Pearl looks primed to go on with the job here. The three-year-old filly was sent around as a $2.30 favourite on that day and showed a genuine will to win when getting the bob in on the line. She settled in the second-half of the field that day in a tricky spot, but once she found clear air, she was able to build through her gears nicely and got the better of Skyforger in a driving finish. She draws out in barrier nine on Tuesday under Lachlan King who sticks and with a genuinely run 1100m event expected, the race looks perfectly set up for Kimberley Pearl to flash down the centre of the track and bring up a second win at just her third start.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silk #7 Kimberley Pearl (9)

3yo Filly | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Lachlan King (56kg)

Next Best at Stony Creek – Chambers Bay

We will be looking to make our presence known early as the Phillip Stokes-trained Chambers Bay steps out over 2100m in the opening event. The three-year-old gelding is lining up in just his fourth start on Tuesday and has shown enough so far to suggest he is more than capable in a race like this. He looks to be screaming out for 2000m+ which he gets in this and from barrier one draws to gain every favour in running under Brian Higgins. A few of his rivals have had their chance at breaking their maiden and considering Chambers Bay is lightly raced and we do not know where his ceiling is, we’re happy to side with him at a nice price with online bookmakers.

Next Best

Race 1 – Silk #6 Chambers Bay (1)

3yo Gelding | T: Phillip Stokes | J: Brian Higgins (58kg)

$3.20 with Bet365

Best Value at Stony Creek – Sports Choice

The Andrew Homann-trained Sports Choice is on the quick backup having finished second on debut at Stony Creek over 1000m on December 27. The four-year-old mare finished second on that day where she settled toward the rear of the field, before making up substantial ground in the home straight. She did plenty wrong once fully wound up when wanting to pull to the outer rail, but in doing so showed a nice turn of foot which saw her take off plenty of ground off the eventual winner. With raceday experience under her belt, the extra 100m and Sheridan Clarke sticking on board, Sports Choice looks a great value play early on at Stony Creek.

Best Value

Race 3 – Silk #7 Sports Choice (10)

4yo Mare | T: Andrew Homann | J: Sheridan Clarke (a1.5) (58kg)

$11 with Palmerbet
