Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted January 18, 2023 Journalists Share Posted January 18, 2023 What Moonee Valley Races Where Moonee Valley Racing Club – 2 Feehan Ave, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039 When Saturday, January 21, 2023 First Race 12:35pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes For the first time in the New Year, racing heads to Moonee Valley on Saturday afternoon with a competitive nine-race program scheduled. In the lead up to the meeting the track has come up a Soft 5, but with a friendly forecast we should be racing on a Good 4. The rail returns to the true position for the meeting commencing at 12:35pm AEDT. Best Bet at Moonee Valley: Shuffle Dancer The Peter Moody barn is low flying, and it is hard to go bast his three-year-old filly Shuffle Dancer in the BM70 over 1500m. The I Am Invincible filly finished 1.5-lengths off the smart Wrote To Arataki at Flemington on January 1 when finishing second and in doing so, put nearly two-lengths on subsequent Flemington winner Belle Et Riche. The form line stands out like a sore thumb for this meeting and from barrier four under Ben Melham is set to gain a near perfect run in transit throughout. Running On Time and Propreitary will look to make this a genuinely run event from what we have seen from the pair so far in their career, which will set the race up perfectly for Shuffle Dancer to make her run approaching the turn and put a length or two on her rivals in smart fashion. Best Bet Race 4 – #6 Shuffle Dancer (4) 3yo Filly | T: Peter Moody | J: Ben Melham (56kg) $2 with Bet365 Next Best at Moonee Valley: Dance To Dubai We are hoping the Peter Moody stable leave Moonee Valley with at least a double as we are quite keen on the chances of Dance To Dubai in the second leg of the quaddie. The five-year-old mare managed to put close to three lengths on her rivals in similar company at this track and trip on December 31 and considering this is no harder, she looks a clear on top selections. The Pride Of Dubai mare has two wins from as many starts at the Moonee Valley 1200m and considering she finished with a long neck of her stablemate Invincible Caviar two starts back, she simply looks too good for this lot. We expect Carleen Hefel to use her 2kg claim to her advantage, take Dance To Dubai to the front of the field, dictate terms and kick clear on the home turn to continue her strong affiliation with the Moonee Valley 1200m. Next Best Race 7 – #8 Dance To Dubai (4) 5yo Mare | T: Peter Moody | J: Carleen Hefel (a2) (57.5kg) $3 with Palmerbet Best Value at Moonee Valley: Joseylin Despite going up against odds-on favourite Unflinching, we are willing to side with the Ben & JD Hayes-trained Joseylin early on in the card. The four-year-old mare bought up a deserving win at Cranbourne on December 23 when settling on the heels of the leaders, peeling out on the home turn and putting her rivals away in smart fashion. The race on Saturday looks perfectly set up for a runner to take a sit off a hot speed and from barrier five, we expect Michael Dee will have Joseylin within striking distance of the favourite and who is the expected race leader. Joseylin loves the 1000m scamper with four wins and four seconds and having already won at The Valley 1000m, we are happy to side with her at a price in the second race. Best Value Race 2 – #7 Joseylin (5) 4yo Mare | T: Ben & JD Hayes | J: Michael Dee (54.5kg) $9.50 with Betfair Saturday quaddie tips for Moonee Valley Moonee Valley quadrella selections Saturday, January 21, 2023 1-2-4-5-8 2-4-8 2-3-6-11-12 5-8-13-15 Investment: $360 for 100% Latest horse racing tips View the full article
