Josh Parr and Fashion Legend have caused a boil over in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, giving Richard & Will Freedman one of their biggest wins as a training partnership.

Parr gave this son of Deep Field a 10 out of 10 ride as he settled him in the top six and pulled out three-wide on the home corner to make his run, where he proved too strong in the final 200m.

He managed to hold off the fast finishing and heavily backed race favourite, Yellow Brick, to win by half a head on the line.

Fashion Legend jumped as a $26 outsider with online bookmakers, with many punters not giving him much of a chance, even though he had won the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate last start at Doomben and had won three in a row coming into Magic Millions Day.

Will Freedman spoke post-race about how much of a thrill it is to win the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

“It’s pretty indescribable,” Freedman replied, when asked how he was feeling post-race.

“I thought he had pretty good form, he was one of the only ones that had won Group races.

“I think people thought he might have been lucky in the Vo Rogue, but he did it pretty tough Vo Rogue and he toughed it out again today.

“It’s definitely the biggest win of my short career to date and I can’t believe it.”

Josh Parr gave his mount an absolute peach of a ride to record his first ever Magic Millions 3YO Guineas victory.

“He’s a tough little horse, he was there for me every step of the way,” Parr echoed the thoughts of Will Freedman about the toughness of Fashion Legend.

Josh Parr ended his post-race interview with a compliment to trainers, Richard & Will Freedman.

“They’re doing a good job with the horses they are presented with and I’m pleased to get the ride here and get the job done, especially for a significant owner.”
