Away from a middle gate, he was able to save crucial ground only three wide in the short run up into the first turn and as the field spread out along the Gulfstream backstretch, he found himself fourth racing outside of White Abarrio (Race Day) behind pacesetter Stilleto Boy (Shackleford). Still fourth and widest of the front quartet past a half mile in :47.71, Art Collector loomed up beside Stilleto Boy and Defunded (Dialed In) leaving the far turn and gave the others no chance from there, drawing off for the convincing score.
