Not seen since his dominating 23-length win in the GIII Dwyer S. at Belmont last July, 'TDN Rising Star' Charge It (Tapit–I'll Take Charge, by Indian Charlie) went off the heavy 1-5 favorite for his return to the races at Gulfstream. Sitting fourth while happy to let a trio of horses do the dirty work up front, the grey kept in touch under jockey Luis Saez, slowing inching up to third as the top flight made their way into the far turn. With Saez still sitting motionless, Charge It ranged up alongside Laughing Boy (Distorted Humor) as the half went in :45.99 and went right on by, opening up an easy advantage at the top of the lane. The rest of the field had no choice but to chase him home and, under a hands and heels ride, Charge It held off Vittorio (Ghostzapper) in a final time of 1:41.96. Lifetime Record: 6-3-2-0.
