Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 10, 2023 Journalists Share Posted February 10, 2023 What Bendigo Races Where Bendigo Jockey Club – Heinz St, White Hills VIC 3550 When Sunday, February 12, 2023 First Race 12:50pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes Racing heads out to the Bendigo Jockey Club on Sunday afternoon where a competitive nine-race program is set down for decision. With a warm weekend forecast across Melbourne and its surrounds, the Good 4 track rating should hold firm for this meeting, with the potential for an upgrade to a Good 3. We kick off the day of action from the ‘Nursery of Champions’ at 12:50pm AEDT, with the rail sticking to the true position throughout. Best Bet at Bendigo – Skywriter We will be looking to strike early on Sunday when the Chris Waller-trained Skywriter looks to build on her narrow second on debut at Moe on January 24. She ran to within a half-length of Skepticism, when giving her rivals too much of a start and racing in tight confinements when powering home late. The big straight at Bendigo and the want for a genuine tempo, which she should get on Sunday, means this race is well within her grasp. Jye McNeil will have this girl at the rear of the field and as she is turning for home, Skywriter should be close enough to unleash a turn of foot that should be more than enough to claim her maiden victory. Best Bet Race 2 – #12 Skywriter (9) 3yo Filly | T: Chris Waller | J: Jye McNeil (57kg) $2.80 with Palmerbet Next Best at Bendigo – Regal Valour Despite struggling in City-grade races at Sandown and Moonee Valley recently, the Matt Cumani-trained Regal Valour looks well-placed at a weaker level. The four-year-old mare steps back in trip too having last been seen at the 2400m when peaking on her run late, so the 2200m on Sunday should be the sweet spot. The So You Think mare is drawn to gain the suck run in transit under John Allen from barrier two. While a few of her rivals may be struggling late, Regal Valour should be doing her best work and sprinting clear. She is one we need to take on trust, but Regal Valour is the best horse in the race and should get the job done. Next Best Race 5 – #6 Regal Valour (2) 4yo Mare | T: Matt Cumani | J: John Allen (57.5kg) $4 with Neds Best Value at Bendigo – Storm’s Colours The Anthony Chibnall-trained Storm’s Colours has claimed two of his last three starts enroute to this BM64 over 1500m and at a big price, looks poised to strike. We are getting a ridiculous price from online bookmakers for a runner who should be racing with supreme confidence and considering he has two wins and four minor placings from six goes at the trip, we’re happy to risk him at an each-way price. His best racing comes when settling close to the speed and with 61kg on his back from barrier 12, Jack Hill will likely have him settled outside the leader throughout. If he can kick clear early in the home straight, Storm’s Colours best is more than good enough in an event like this. Best Value Race 7 – #4 Storm’s Colours (12) 5yo Gelding | T: Anthony Chibnall | J: Jack Hill (61kg) $18 with Ladbrokes Sunday quaddie tips for Bendigo Bendigo quadrella selections Sunday, February 12, 2023 4-9-13-17 4-5-6-14 2-3-5-8 2-8-9-10 Investment: $256 for 100% More racing tips View the full article
