Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 11, 2023 Journalists Share Posted February 11, 2023 By Joshua Smith, Harness News Desk Got You Covered will be looking to improve on his runner-up effort in the Waikouaiti Pacers Cup (3000m) last week when he heads to Methven on Sunday. Trainers Brent and Tim White have been pleased with the way he has come through the race and are looking forward to stepping him out over the same distance in the Garrard’s Horse & Hound Hororata Cup (3000m). “He has come through his run last week well. I was happy with that, being his first run back with five weeks between runs,” Brent White said. “It will be a bit more even field (on Sunday) so he will need a bit of luck. “It (3000m) is a distance he likes and Methven is a course he races well on. His grass track form is great, so he just needs a bit of luck in the running. “Since he has joined our stable he probably hasn’t had a lot of luck so it is due to change.” TAB bookmakers share White’s confidence, installing Got You Covered a $4.50 second favourite behind Franco Norton at $3.50. White will also head to Methven with Kohli Trouble and Misskcmack who he rates as place chances in their respective races. “Kohli Trouble has been going better than his form says. It is a wee bit stronger field on Sunday, but as long as he steps and he can stay handy, he is always a top four chance,” he said. “Misskcmack has drawn a better marble (3) on Sunday. She is in the same boat as Kohli Trouble, she will run a place with an ounce of luck.” Meanwhile, White is happy with the way Better’s Tart has pulled up after her tough run in the Group 1 NZ Standardbred Breeders’ Stakes (2600m) at Addington Raceway on Friday night. “She pulled up well, she was galloping around the paddock this (Saturday) morning,” White said. “Someone had to get up and around them and that was our one this time. It was very draw related, the ones on the fence got the best runs and they got the better end of the prize pack. “She has gone great and has been racing great. We will turn the page and look to her next start which will be down south for another heat of the Southern Belle and then Final.” View the full article
