Another week of racing in Victoria gets underway when the Stony Creek Racing Club hosts a competitive eight-race on Monday afternoon. Despite rain forecast in the region on Sunday afternoon, we expect the Good 4 rating to hold firm for race day and with the rail sticking in the true position, each runner should get their chance throughout the day.

The action kicks off at Stony Creek at 1:30pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Stony Creek – Innerbloom

On what looks a day where we can find some value, the Emma-Lee & David Browne-trained Innerbloom looks to have found the perfect race to bring up a debut win. She seemingly struggled in a tougher maiden at Pakenham on February 2, but her run at Cranbourne the start prior suggests she can take out a race like this. She finished second on that day and was the first time she had be on top of the ground in her career and we’re hoping she can replicate that effort and go one better on Monday. From barrier three, look for Will Gordon to have the Almanzor filly settled midfield with cover and with a sharp turn of foot, we expect Innerbloom to blouse her rivals.

Best Bet

Race 3 – Silk #11 Innerbloom (3)

Next Best at Stony Creek – Vigneron

It is not very often wego with a first starter, but the last trial Vigneron put together suggests he is raring to go first-up from a spell. The three-year-old went through the motions seamlessly over 800m at Cranbourne on January 23 where he settled at the rear and went on to win under a hold. The 1000m looks ideal for his debut run and despite needing to find his way through the field from barrier one, if Ben Allen has him in clear air early enough, this $440,000 yearling purchase looks to have plenty of ability. With even luck, Vigneron should have too strong a finish for his rivals to match and at $4 looks a great bet with online bookmakers.

Next Best

Race 2 – Silk #5 Vigneron (1)

3yo Gelding | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Ben Allen (58kg)

Best Value at Stony Creek – Tobytoff

Ken & Kasey Keys send their five-year-old gelding Tobytoff back to Stony Creek on Monday, a track where he has two wins and two minor placings at from four goes. The son of Toorak Toff simply did not appreciate the Synthetic surfaces last campaign and with a bit of luck a return to track where he is clearly acclimatised, he looks a great play in the final event. He looks set to gain an uncontested lead first-up over the mile and with Craig Newitt on board, Tobytoff will look to run them off their legs and prove too hard to catch at a big price with online betting sites.

Best Value

Race 8 – Silk #4 Tobytoff (9)

5yo Gelding | T: Ken & Kasey Keys | J: Craig Newitt (61kg)

$14 with Palmerbet
