Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of runs from around Victoria that have caught the eye over the past fortnight.

#1 CRUISE MODE (Box 2)
Breeding: Nov ’20 Fernando Bale x Tyche Diamond
Trainer: Paul Abela, Parwan
Record: 18 starts 6-5-1

Dale says: Making her first appearance over the 595m distance, Cruise Mode recorded one of the fastest runs we have seen over this distance in a remarkable 33.83 seconds.

Using her inside draw to advantage, this potential middle-distance star drove up on the inside to take up the early running before going away to an emphatic 12-length victory in a display of sustained speed.

#2 DIMES AMBITION (Box 2)
Breeding: Dec ’19 Raw Ability x Kraken Rose
Trainer: Thomas Wark, Murchison
Record: 28 starts 5-2-0

Dale says: After bombing the start and a clear last early, Dimes Ambition showed a brilliant turn of speed to quickly work herself into a threatening position.

After being held up at a crucial stage, she hooked to the outside and set after the runaway leader.

Still spotting the leader a healthy start, Dimes Ambition went into overdrive to score a last stride victory in this eye-catching last-to-first victory.

#3 HECTOR INTENTION (Box 6)
Breeding: Jul ’20 Fernando Bale x Jane’s Intention
Trainer: Diane O’Neill, Pearcedale
Record: 22 starts 3-3-4

Dale says: Coming out a clear last and being held up for most of the race, Hector Intention was still at the tail of the field approaching the home turn.

With the aid of some shuffling up front, he was good enough to take advantage of a saloon run along the inside rail to flash home and record this unlikely victory.
