Slammed into 1-2 favoritism for his afternoon debut, BISHOPS BAY (Uncle Mo–Catch My Drift, by Pioneerof the Nile) justified the hype and rewarded his trainer with career win #2,000 Saturday at the Fair Grounds. Sent from mid pack to rate between horses just off pacesetter Ocean City (American Pharoah), the bay stayed just off that rival's hip into the far turn before making his move past the quarter pole. In front but challenged on his outside by a game First Mission (Street Sense), the Triple-Crown nominated colt dug in to post the narrow win. The 3-year-old colts traveled the six panels in 1:10.07. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0.
