Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of greyhounds to follow from around Victoria. You may even want to add them to your Blackbook account.

BRUCE’S RUSLIE (Box 7)
Breeding: Apr ’20 My Redeemer x Vis Vitae
Trainer: Russell Edwards, Langwarrin
Record: 34 starts 5-5-9

Dale says: Bruce’s Ruslie has shown dramatic improvement since stepping up to middle distance racing with a brilliant win and subsequent eye-catching placing in a heat and final over 595m at Sandown Park recently.

He is engaged to run over 680m at Warragul on Tuesday night and he should appreciate the step up in distance despite going up against some quality opposition.

Best traits: Mid race burn, tough chaser
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 650m

SCHILLACI (Box 1)
Breeding: June ’21 Hard Style Rico x Flying Hareeba
Trainer: Jihad Talgi, Devon Meadows
Record: 1 starts 1-0-0

Dale says: A massive plunge paid off ($3.70 into $1.45) when the son of Hard Style Rico displayed electrifying speed soon after box rise to record a sizzling 25.58sec win on debut at Warragul yesterday.

Trained by one of the most underrated trainers in the game, Jihad Talgi may just have his hands on a potential star sprinter with Schillaci.

Best trait: Early speed
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 450m

GOLDEN RATIO (Box 2)
Breeding: Dec ’18 Aston Dee Bee x Betta Bale
Trainer: Andrew Broadley, Aspendale
Record: 82 starts 10-16-11

Dale says: Not often a dog that is turning five this year and had 82 starts would be a dog to follow, but after reviewing her colossal run in a heat of the Fanta Bale Super Stayers at The Meadows on Saturday night, you could argue that Golden Ratio would have been as fast as any of the other heat winners without interference.

She will go around as the rank outsider in the Group 1 final and although expected to settle out the back of the field initially, Golden Ratio will be strong in the run home with luck and could run a big race at huge odds.

Best trait: Runs all day
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: At least 700 metres
