The Parks track at Morphettville is scheduled to host a bumper nine-race card on Saturday afternoon, and there look to be a couple of nice plays throughout the day. With perfect conditions forecast in Adelaide leading into the weekend, we should be racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 3m from the 1000m to the winning post and then true the remainder. We kick off the day of racing at 12:17pm ACDT.

Best Bet at Morphettville: Chicago Storm

The David Aldridge-trained Chicago Storm was a dominant winner over the 1250m on the Parks track last time out and in a similar field looks a clear best bet of the day on Saturday. The 1300m looks to be right up his wheelhouse and as long as Jake Toeroek can have the Trust in a Gust gelding settled in the moving line with cover, Chicago Storm looks to be too speedy for this lot. The four-year-old gelding was a good thing beaten first-up from a spell before his last start win and outside of any bad luck, Chicago Storm should be bringing up a second win from three starts this time in.

Best Bet

Race 4 – Silk #7 Chicago Storm (8)

4yo Gelding | T: David Aldridge | J: Jake Toeroek (56kg)

$2.35 with Unibet

Next Best at Morphettville: Greyt Mumma

One of our better bets of the day comes up in the final race of the day when the Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained Greyt Mumma looks to build on her dominant Stony Creek maiden win. The three-year-old filly took up the running over 1000m on that day and found the rail with ease and once that was the case, the race was all but over. The Capitalist filly will need to overcome barrier 12 on Saturday, but if Todd Pannell can have her humming out of the gates, she can take up the running and give her rivals something to run down. With a relatively uncontested lead expected, Greyt Mumma should have too many favours go her way and looks well-placed to bring up a second straight win.

Next Best

Race 9 – Silk #10 Greyt Mumma (12)

3yo Filly | T: Anthony & Sam Freedman | J: Todd Pannell (56.5kg)

$2.80 with Neds

Best Value at Morphettville: Recreant

Darryl Dodson’s Recreant was the definition of a good thing beaten at Mount Gambier on February 22 when forced to travel three wide up on speed, eventually going down by the barest of margins. There is little doubt that with a bit of cover, or being able to settle one off the fence, Recreant would have won on that day. A similar effort on Saturday, with a touch more luck, should see this son of Rebel Raider back in the winner’s stall for the third time in nine starts. Kayla Crowther sticks which is an added bonus and if she can have Recreant settled outside the leader throughout the 1550m event, Recreant looks a great play at $9.50 with online bookmakers.

Best Value

Race 7 – Silk #4 Recreant (7)

6yo Gelding | T: Darryl Dodson | J: Kayla Crowther (59kg)

$9.50 with Palmerbet
