Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 28, 2023 Journalists Share Posted March 28, 2023 What Pakenham Races Where Pakenham Racing Club – 420 Nar Nar Goon–Longwarry Rd, Tynong VIC 3813 When Thursday, March 30, 2023 First Race 5:45pm AEDT Visit Ladbrokes Pakenham Racecourse is set to host its weekly eight-race program this Thursday evening, and with a bit of luck we can steer you into a few winners throughout the night. A fair bit of rain is forecast for Pakenham in the lead-up to Thursday’s meeting, so despite the track being a Good 4 when acceptances were released, we anticipate to be racing on a Soft 5 or 6 come race one. The rail comes out 3m from the 400m to the winning post and sits true the remainder, with the meeting commencing at 5:45pm AEDT. Best Bet at Pakenham: Dodi We need to keep our powder dry until the final race of the night when the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Dodi steps out over 1200m. The three-year-old gelding finished a length off Marble Arch last time out in a race which as produced three subsequent winners. He finished under a half-length off subsequent Moonee Valley winner Bel Air on that night, which looks to be the right form line heading into Thursday’s race. He draws barrier four under Blake Shinn and if the pair can lob in the one-one, the race might be over within the first furlong. Dodi break his maiden at this track and trip two starts back and if the son of Dissident repeats what he has done at his last two starts, then Dodi looks a clear best bet of the night. Best Bet Race 8 – #10 Dodi (4) 3yo Gelding | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Blake Shinn (56.5kg) $3 with Bet365 Next Best at Pakenham: Globe Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) will be hoping their four-year-old gelding Globe can remain undefeated through two starts. The son of Charm Spirit managed to lead throughout on debut over 1400m and was going through the line strongly to suggest that the step up to 1600m to be no issue at all. Blake Shinn hops on board and from barrier eight will look to find the rail, dictate terms with Globe and have his rivals chasing on the home turn. We might not get a great price about him, but if he finds the lead, it is hard to see how his rivals chase down Globe in the second leg of the quaddie. Next Best Race 6 – #1 Globe (8) 4yo Gelding | T: Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) | J: Blake Shinn (59.5kg) $1.70 with Neds Best Value at Pakenham: Artie’s Dynamite The John Moloney-trained Artie’s Dynamite looked to have the 1000m a touch too short when finishing third upon resumption at Sale and looks set to appreciate the 1200m second-up from a four-month spell. The three-year-old gelding got the gun run in transit on that day and was simply outsprinted. He draws barrier one under Patrick Moloney who sticks on board and having had both starts on rain-affected going, we have no doubt he will handle the sting out of the ground come Thursday night. With a touch race fitness on his side and drawing the pole, we expect Artie’s Dynamite to run a big race on Thursday night at a nice price with online bookmakers. Best Value Race 4 – #4 Artie’s Dynamite (1) 3yo Gelding | T: John Moloney | J: Patrick Moloney (59kg) $11 with Betfair Thursday quaddie tips for Pakenham Pakenham quadrella selections Thursday, March 30, 2023 2-3-4 1-4-8 1-2-4-11 4-10 Investment: $72 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
