Racing returns to the Cranbourne Turf Club this Friday evening, where a competitive eight-race program is scheduled. With a bit of luck we can steer you into a few winners to help kickstart a massive weekend on the punt. Following a wet week in Melbourne’s south-east, expect to be racing on a Soft 7 or Heavy 8 come the opening event. The first of eight races are set to jump at 6:15pm AEDT, with the rail returning to the true position.

Best Bet at Cranbourne: Pretty Tavi

We were with Pretty Tavi last time out at Moonee Valley where she was a touch disappointing, but the step back to a Cranbourne 0-64 looks to be ideal for the three-year-old filly. She took up the lead on that day under Blake Shinn, but from barrier one once again on Friday, look for Daniel Moor to have this girl on the leaders’ heels throughout and save the Tavistock filly for the last look at her rivals. Her form reads as well as any in the race and outside of any bad luck from the inside draw, Pretty Tavi should prove a class above and is a clear best bet of the night.

Best Bet

Race 7 – Silks#9 Pretty Tavi (1)

3yo Filly | T: Anthony & Sam Freedman | J: Daniel Moor (57.5kg)

$3.60 with Neds

Next Best at Cranbourne: Let’sbefrankbaby

The Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock-trained Let’sbefrankbaby was last seen finishing midfield in the VRC Oaks during the spring and first-up from a spell, we expect her to fire over the mile. Her sole win in her career came when second-up, so first-up over the mile looks to be the tonic for success for this Frankel filly. She has had her last three starts in Group company, so the step back to a BM64 against her own sex looks ideal. From barrier three, Jamie Mott will look to have her settled in the one-one and if the likes of Missy Longport and Hanmer Springs can make this a genuinely run mile, Let’sbefrankbaby should be able to finish right over the top of her rivals.

Race 5 – silks#3 Let’sbefrankbaby (3)

3yo Filly | T: Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock | J: Jamie Mott (60kg)

Next Best Again at Cranbourne: Free Willed

We will be looking to build a bit of a bank early on in the meeting when the Cindy Alderson-trained Free Willed steps out in the opener. The Tivaci filly chased home the seemingly smart Clock Strikes at Pakenham on March 10 when finishing 2.5 lengths off the winner and in doing so, put 1.5 lengths on subsequent winner Icy Isea. The form looks to be the best in the race and having drawn barrier one, she should have no excuses. Look for Daniel Moor to take up the running from the gun draw and if there is going to be any advantage to be up on speed it will be early on, so expect Free Willed to be too hard to run down.

Next Best Again

Race 1 – Silks#6 Free Willed (1)

3yo Filly | T: Cindy Alderson | J: Daniel Moor (57kg)

$4.60 with Unibet
