Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 6, 2023 Journalists Share Posted April 6, 2023 GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria. Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook! Quilts Gents, we have some cracking greyhound racing over Easter and it all starts tonight at Sandown Park with the Group 3 Launching Pad Final. Gerard I had to rest last week to prepare for this weekend, Quilts. I spoke to Rob Britton recently and he is spoiled for choice with litter brothers Trooper Tears (Box 2) and Trapper Tears (Box 7). Trent I’m still laughing over the cracking joke by Quilts, Gerard. If Group 1 runner-up Starline Express (Box 5) begins like he has in his heat and semi-final, he will prove hard to catch. Quilts Dundee Rebel (Box 3) and Meteor Monelli (Box 8) cannot be taken lightly as they are the only greyhounds to both win their heat and semi-final of the Launching Pad. Gerard Don’t forget that Dragon Inn (Box 1) has won five of his eight starts and Al’s Entity (Box 4) won a Group 3 final at The Meadows on Australian Cup Night. Trent Good luck finding the winner of tomorrow night’s Group 2 Sportsbet Ballarat Cup Final. Can Salad Dodger (Box 6) – a favourite of mine – secure an elusive feature race? I might have to be a meat dodger for Good Friday. Quilts Daniel and Rebecca Gibbons enjoyed Group 3 success with their sentimental favourite, Titan Blazer, at Mount Gambier on Sunday, and they have Quinlan Bale (Box 3) and dual Group winner Kelsey Bale (Box 7). Gerard Is this the race that shows Unleash Collinda (Box 4) is not purely a Healesville specialist? Shima Shadow (Box 5) and Shima Dream (Box 8) have both been impressive early in their careers. Quilts I chatted with Jess Hopkins yesterday and she has Bobby Axelrod. Jess likes Box 2 for ‘Bobby’ and while he has a good record at Ballarat, she acknowledged it is a competitive final. Trent Good luck to Baby Jaycee and Elite Alex in Saturday night’s Group 1 Golden Easter Egg Final, Riptide Ruslie and Korda in the Group 1 Association Cup Final, and Bendigo for their Gold Rush meeting on Sunday.
