Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 14, 2018 Journalists Share Posted September 14, 2018 Given a patient ride by apprentice Edgar Morales, G. Watts Humphrey Jr.’s HIGH REGARD (f, 2, Will Take Charge–Highest Class, by Mineshaft) became the fifth winner for her freshman sire (by Unbridled’s Song) with a determined victory in a mile maiden Friday afternoon at Churchill Downs. Sent off the 4-1 second choice on the heels of a solid debut fourth to next-out Arlington-Washington Lassie S. victrix Into Trouble (Into Mischief) going seven panels at Ellis Park Aug. 11, the $160,000 Keeneland September graduate was off fairly and improed her position out of the chute to race in fifth and in the clear down the backstretch as favored Mo Wheels Up (Uncle Mo). Given her cue entering the turn, she covered a bit of ground, but was catching every stride and was three wide into the lane. Mo Wheels Up led into the final eighth of a mile, but High Regard had all the answers, collaring that one with 100 yards remaining before edging home a length to the good. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0. O-G Watts Humphrey Jr; B-Coteau Grove Farms LLC (KY); T-Victoria Oliver. View the full article
