In her first start since her GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint win over this course and distance Nov. 5, CARAVEL (m, 6, Mizzen Mast-Zeezee Zoomzoom, by Congrats) once again faced the boys and once again repelled all challengers to emerge a narrow victress. Off at 9-5, she went straight to the front and stayed there, clicking off fractions in :21.86, :44.77, and :56.45, and battled down the lane with Bad Beat Brian (Jack Milton), who actually poked his head in front briefly. Caravel would not be denied, fighting back for a head victory in 1:02.58. MGSW & GISP Arrest Me Red (Pioneerof the Nile) finished third.
